In reading my poetry to young people I have had more than a few of them ask if they could send me poems that they have written; many of them quite exceptional. Then one day, all of a sudden , POOF, an idea; "Why not build a blog and share them with a wide audience and give them a little exposure and hype."
I have found that many young people are now beginning to discover and express themselves through the wonderful expression of poetry. It is an art form for young writers that this blog, “I Smell Chocolate”, wants to encourage and promote. I hope that submitting to “I Smell Chocolate” will further encourage the young writer to continue to be creative. Remember, even if your poem doesn't get posted everyone who invents and takes the time to write a poem is a champion and a winner.
This is a site where young people can see what the power of poetic creativity is doing in other young peoples lives.
